Gordon Hayward is used to being the alpha. As a member of USA’s FIBA Under-19 basketball squad, he led the team to a gold medal in the World Championship, came within inches of what would have undoubtedly been the greatest buzzer-beater in NCAA tournament history during his time at Butler and was named a Western Conference NBA All-Star. Gordon credits a lifelong rivalry with his twin sister for stoking the competitive fire inside him during his formative years, and that fire is what led him to competitive gaming and esports.

After cutting his teeth on console games like Duck Hunt and Contra, Gordon started competing in local Halo tournaments with his squad, and started getting more into PC games. These days, you’re most likely to bump into Gordon online in a game of Overwatch, Hearthstone, League of Legends or possibly Fortnite, if his daughter doesn’t interrupt.

Legends or possibly Fortnite, if his daughter doesn’t interrupt. Hayward prides himself on being able to anticipate his defenders’ actions on the court so that he can get himself easy buckets or open looks for his teammates. He carries that same quickness of thought and acumen into his gaming, always looking to exploit strategic superiority to carry the day. One of the advantages that Gordon will have on his side is the HyperX advantage. Gordon relies on the comfort and crystal-clear audio and communication that HyperX headsets provide to pinpoint enemy positions and unleash coordinated domination in key team fights.
If you’re matched up with Gordon online, you better be sure that you’re planning two or three moves ahead, because Gordon’s going to have the HyperX edge, and he’s looking to put you in check.
